FPGA Developer – Low Latency Trading

About the role

We are seeking a full‑stack FPGA developer to join a leading quantitative trading and investment firm. The role focuses on designing and delivering ultra‑low latency hardware platforms that support trading strategies across multiple asset classes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, integrate and deliver low‑latency trading systems.
• Develop RTL in Verilog/SystemVerilog (or VHDL) for large Altera and Xilinx FPGAs.
• Create self‑checking test benches, bus functional models (BFMs) and other verification harnesses.
• Integrate firmware with target hardware and associated software components.
• Participate in peer design reviews and capture functional requirements.
• Release firmware items and support post‑release activities.

Required profile

• Degree in electronics/engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum 3 years of professional hardware development experience.
• Strong digital design and FPGA architecture expertise.
• Proven debugging and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience working in a fast‑paced, short‑feedback development environment.

Required skills

• Verilog / SystemVerilog (or VHDL) coding.
• FPGA development on Altera and Xilinx devices.
• Vivado and Questasim toolchains.
• Linux‑based development environment.
• Scripting in TCL/TK and Python.
• Design of self‑checking test benches and BFMs.
• Knowledge of digital communications protocols and networking basics.
