Fractional Head of Finance – 1.5 days per week

About the role

This is a hands‑on, commercially focused finance leadership position for a fast‑growing film and TV start‑up. Working 1.5 days a week, you will own the finance function while partnering with senior leadership to drive reporting, controls and strategic insight.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee monthly management accounts, reporting packs and financial analysis.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis, providing clear commentary.
• Monitor cash‑flow forecasts and overall financial performance.
• Partner with leadership on commercial planning, pricing strategy and growth forecasting.
• Maintain robust financial controls and ensure statutory compliance.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable, issue sales invoices and maintain collections reports.
• Oversee payroll processes, pensions, benefits and statutory obligations, initially via a third‑party provider.
• Support board reporting and provide financial insight to senior stakeholders.
• Implement and streamline financial systems, reporting processes and controls.
• Liaise with external accountants, auditors and advisors as required.

Required profile

• Proactive, detail‑oriented professional comfortable with both day‑to‑day finance and strategic planning.
• Experience working in scaling businesses where processes are evolving.
• Ability to balance operational delivery with strategic input.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence senior leadership.
