Freelance MRICS/FRICS Building Surveyor (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking experienced MRICS or FRICS chartered building surveyors to join our freelance team on a remote basis. The role involves inspecting residential properties, producing detailed defect reports and repair specifications, and supporting expert witness work using our proprietary iOS‑based software.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on‑site inspections of houses and apartments across the UK.
• Identify defects, assess compliance with HHSRS and the Landlord & Tenant Act 1985, and produce repair specifications.
• Enter findings directly into the client’s iOS survey application, eliminating the need for manual reports.
• Submit completed reports for fast payment within 48 hours of acceptance.
• Collaborate remotely with a supportive team while maintaining independence.

Required profile

• Hold a valid MRICS or FRICS chartered designation.
• Extensive experience in building surveying, including housing disrepair and large‑loss cases.
• Strong knowledge of HHSRS and the Landlord & Tenant Act 1985.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with problem‑solving ability.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Comfortable using Apple iOS devices and related remote‑work technology.
