Freelance Norwegian Instructional Designer

About the role

Our current project is in the construction industry, requiring instructional materials for technical and industrial audiences. While experience in these sectors is a plus, the key focus is on making complex content accessible and engaging. The role is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere within the EMEA region.

Key responsibilities

• Translate SME input and raw content into clear, structured instructional narratives.
• Design scenario‑based learning modules and knowledge checks that align with real‑job performance.
• Write purposeful video scripts tailored to the target audience.
• Adapt content and tone for international and multilingual contexts.

Required profile

• Works independently across complex, multi‑deliverable projects with minimal direction.
• Manages feedback efficiently and proactively flags scope concerns.
• Balances instructional design principles with practical client needs while keeping the learner in focus.
• Collaborates closely with project managers, UI/UX designers, and developers as part of an integrated team.

Required skills

• Strong writing skills for clear, structured communication.
• Familiarity with Cognitive Load Theory and its application in learning design.
• Native‑level proficiency (C1) in Norwegian and at least B2 level in English.
