Freight Forwarding Executive – Night Shift

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Freight Forwarding Executive to join a specialist logistics team operating on a permanent night shift at Heathrow. You will manage urgent, high‑value shipments across road, air and sea, including critical Aircraft on Ground (AOG) movements, ensuring they are delivered on time and to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate multimodal freight movements (road, air, sea) throughout the night.
• Book freight with carriers, produce Air Waybills, customs declarations and transit documentation.
• Handle AOG and other time‑critical shipments, maintaining accurate records.
• Check import and export documentation for compliance and complete customs procedures using CDS.
• Provide customers with regular shipment updates and manage operational mailboxes.
• Obtain freight rates, prepare quotations and perform accurate job costing.
• Prioritise workloads in a fast‑moving environment and liaise with airlines, overseas agents, hauliers and warehouse teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in freight forwarding, aviation logistics or a similarly time‑critical logistics environment.
• Experience across air, road and sea freight operations.
• Knowledge of customs procedures and practical use of the CDS system.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than six penalty points and a five‑year checkable employment history.
• Right to work in the UK and meet airside security requirements.
