French and Spanish Teacher

About the role

Prospero Teaching is partnering with an Ofsted‑rated "Good" secondary school in Newham, East London to recruit a French and Spanish teacher. The role is full‑time, temp‑to‑perm, starting in September 2026 and covers Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. You will join a well‑structured, successful MFL department in a large mixed‑sex school that values a positive and respectful learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess French and Spanish lessons for KS3‑5.
• Develop engaging resources that meet the national curriculum.
• Monitor and report on pupil progress, providing targeted support where needed.
• Participate in department meetings, staff development sessions and parent evenings.
• Contribute to extra‑curricular MFL activities and school events.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• PGCE, SCITT, Teach First or a relevant degree in Modern Foreign Languages.
• Open to newly qualified teachers (NQT) as well as experienced MFL teachers.
• Positive, committed and versatile with strong classroom management skills.

Required skills

• Strong subject knowledge in French and Spanish.
