French Teacher – Secondary School (Leeds)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate French Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Leeds from September 2026. The role is full‑time, long‑term with the potential to become permanent, delivering French lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging French lessons for KS3 and KS4.
• Develop pupils’ speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
• Prepare students for GCSE French examinations.
• Monitor progress, provide constructive feedback and record achievement.
• Create an inclusive, positive classroom environment.
• Support extracurricular language activities and school events.
• Contribute to the wider Modern Foreign Languages department.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• A degree in French, Modern Foreign Languages or a related subject.
• Experience teaching French at KS3 and KS4.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare.
• Desire to inspire language learning and student success.
• Experience teaching GCSE Spanish is desirable; ability to teach a second language is an advantage.
