Full Stack Engineer – Innovation Team (Remote, UK)

About the role

Join the Innovation Team at Matomo to build privacy‑first analytics features. You will work remotely from anywhere in the United Kingdom, collaborating directly with the CTO and senior engineers to turn high‑impact concepts into production‑ready solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prototype and deliver new backend (PHP) and frontend (JavaScript) features that extend Matomo’s core platform.
• Work with additional technologies such as Python and Node.js when required.
• Rapidly explore and validate AI‑powered analytics ideas and other innovation opportunities.
• Own ideas from concept through deployment, balancing speed with quality.
• Write automated tests, review code, and produce clear technical documentation.
• Maintain security best practices and stay current with emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with co‑founders and senior engineers using Slack, Jira and Confluence.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in backend development.
• Comfort working in a small, autonomous, fully remote team.
• Ability to identify blockers and proactively resolve them.
