Full-Stack Software Developer Placement (13 months)

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is offering a 13‑month full‑stack software development placement in Portsmouth, starting 19 July 2027. The role provides hands‑on experience on satellite projects, working with modern tools in an Agile environment while enjoying flexible and hybrid working options.

Key responsibilities

• Study documentation to understand the existing code base.
• Design, develop, document and test your own code.
• Collaborate within a multi‑developer Agile team.
• Research and apply cutting‑edge technologies.
• Pair program with experienced developers.
• Experience the full‑stack of software development as a valued team member.

Required profile

• Currently studying for a degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• Understanding of Object‑Oriented principles.
• Solid foundation in C# or Java.
• Knowledge of software architecture and design patterns.
• Strong interest in programming and technology.
• Good problem‑solving skills.
