Full-Time Primary Teaching Assistant – Graduate Role

About the role
We are looking for enthusiastic graduates to join a primary‑age specialist provision in Plymouth as a full‑time Teaching Assistant. The role starts after the Easter break and supports children aged 4‑11 who may have additional learning needs, developmental delays or SEMH challenges.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support across core subjects and creative activities.
- Assist pupils in developing early literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
- Support emotional regulation, behaviour management and the development of social skills.
- Encourage positive routines, independence and confidence in learning.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to tailor interventions to individual needs.
- Maintain a warm, structured and nurturing learning environment.
Required profile
- Recent or upcoming graduate from any subject area.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Patience, empathy and a nurturing approach.
- Creative and confident when engaging young children.
- Proactive, flexible and willing to learn.
