Full‑Stack Developer – React & Node.js

About the role

You will join Sage’s Payroll and HR Business Unit as a full‑stack developer, building embeddable UI components with React and supporting backend services with C#.NET and Node.js. Working in a hybrid model from the Newcastle office, you’ll be part of a squad that includes senior engineers and a strong technical lead.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high‑quality, scalable front‑end applications using React.
• Collaborate with Product, Design and QA to deliver performant, reliable user experiences.
• Develop and maintain backend APIs and services with C#.NET and Node.js.
• Integrate solutions with internal APIs and other Sage products.
• Ensure application performance, quality and responsiveness across environments.
• Resolve defects during QA, pre‑production, production and post‑release phases.
• Utilise AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, DocumentDB) for deployment and management.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation and continuous improvement of the development lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven experience in front‑end development with a focus on React and accessibility.
• Solid background in software development using C#.NET and/or Node.js.
• Experience building and consuming APIs and backend services.
• Familiarity with AWS services and cloud‑based deployments.
• Hands‑on experience with Agile development methodologies.
