Fullstack PHP Developer – London

About the role

A well‑known UK retailer is seeking a mid‑level Fullstack PHP Developer to join its London tech function. You will work across backend, front‑end, CMS and CRM, contributing to both legacy maintenance and a major greenfield rebuild.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain full‑stack features using PHP and JavaScript.
• Address legacy code and technical debt while supporting new greenfield development.
• Contribute to platform decisions for an upcoming rebuild.
• Own interfaces with internal stakeholders across the business.
• Collaborate daily with a Product Manager and Lead Developer (acting as Product Owner).

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of commercial full‑stack experience.
• Strong PHP skills (experience with Symfony or Laravel is a plus).
• Proficiency in JavaScript with React (Next.js experience is a plus).
• Comfortable reading and working with bespoke, custom‑written code.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining reasonable code quality.
• Open and curious about AI tooling in the development workflow.
