Full‑Time Primary Teaching Assistant (1:1 & General)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join a warm school in Holmes Chapel. The role is full‑time, split between general classroom support in Year 4 mornings and one‑to‑one support for a child with social, emotional and behavioural needs in the afternoons.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher with whole‑class lessons and small‑group activities in Year 4.
• Provide tailored one‑to‑one support to a pupil with SEN, focusing on academic and emotional progress.
• Maintain a calm, consistent presence and help manage challenging behaviour.
• Carry out general classroom duties such as preparing resources and supervising pupils.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure a safe learning environment.

Required profile

• Experience working with SEN or challenging behaviour in school or related settings.
• Resilient, patient and nurturing personality.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and think quickly.
• Genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
