Full‑time Teaching Assistant (Phonics) – Slough

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a full‑time Teaching Assistant with phonics experience to join a supportive primary school in Slough. The role runs during term time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am‑4:00 pm, and offers the chance to develop within a strong senior leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Support the classroom teacher in delivering the curriculum, particularly phonics lessons.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group assistance to pupils in Key Stage 1 or 2.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, following safeguarding policies.
• Assist with classroom management, behaviour support and administrative tasks.
• Participate in staff training and professional development sessions.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in a UK primary school (Key Stage 1 or 2).
• Recent safeguarding training (within the last year).
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS with online update service.
• Two professional child‑related references covering the last two years.

Required skills

• Phonics instruction experience.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
