Functional Skills Maths & English Tutor (Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic Functional Skills Tutors to deliver Level 1 and Level 2 Maths and English to adult learners within a prison education setting in Liverpool. This temporary, ongoing position supports learners in developing essential skills for employability and rehabilitation.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Level 1 & 2 Functional Skills Maths and/or English to adult learners in a prison environment.
• Support learners with diverse abilities and educational backgrounds.
• Prepare learners for assessments and monitor their progress.
• Maintain accurate learner records in line with safeguarding and prison education guidelines.

Required profile

• Experience delivering Functional Skills Maths and/or English.
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed) or equivalent teaching experience.
• Strong communication and classroom management abilities.
• Willingness to undergo enhanced DBS and prison vetting.
