Fund Controller VP – Asset Management (Canary Wharf)

About the role

The Fund Controller VP will lead fund accounting and reporting for a large asset‑management organisation operating in transportation, infrastructure and alternatives. Based in Canary Wharf, the role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on control of financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee fund accounting and financial reporting processes to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with internal teams to manage fund operations, capital calls and investor queries.
• Review and approve financial statements, budgets and reconciliations for assigned funds.
• Develop and implement financial controls to mitigate risk and improve efficiency.
• Provide performance insights and strategic recommendations to senior management.
• Manage relationships with auditors, trustees and other external stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of finance professionals.
• Stay current on industry regulations and best practices.

Required profile

• Professional qualification such as ACA from a Big 4 or top‑six practice.
• Extensive knowledge of fund accounting, control principles and financial reporting standards.
• Significant experience in asset‑management or related financial services (transportation, infrastructure, real estate).
• Strong analytical ability and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proven leadership experience managing finance teams and cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and contribute as a sole contributor.
