Fundraising Manager (Education)

About the role

The Fundraising Manager will lead the development and delivery of fundraising activities for the Baker Dearing Educational Trust, a charity supporting University Technical Colleges across England. Working from home with occasional travel, you will secure philanthropic support to expand programmes and create more opportunities for young people.

Key responsibilities

• Build and nurture relationships with trusts, foundations, corporate partners and individual donors.
• Identify prospects, conduct research and develop compelling funding proposals.
• Manage the full donor lifecycle, including stewardship, reporting and impact communication.
• Use evidence, data and impact stories to demonstrate the value of employer‑led technical education.
• Collaborate closely with the senior team and trustees to align fundraising strategy with organisational goals.

Required profile

• Proven experience in fundraising or development within the charity or education sector.
• Strong understanding of donor engagement and stewardship processes.
• Excellent written communication skills for proposal writing and reporting.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and travel to meetings across England.

What we offer

• £225 per day on a consultancy agreement or a pro‑rated salary of £23,500 (full‑time equivalent £45,000).
• Part‑time, term‑time only contract with the possibility of extension.
