Fundraising Manager – Major Gifts

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Fundraising Manager to lead our Major Gifts programme. In this role you will connect high‑value donors with opportunities that drive education and research, while working closely with senior university leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Build and nurture relationships with philanthropists, trusts, foundations and corporate partners.
• Identify, develop and present compelling funding proposals that align with the university’s strategic priorities.
• Collaborate with senior academics and administrators to integrate donor interests into research and teaching initiatives.
• Grow and manage a pipeline of high‑value supporters, tracking progress and outcomes.
• Shape the future direction of the major gifts programme through strategic planning and reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in major donor fundraising, trusts and foundations, or corporate partnership roles.
• Strong influencing, networking and relationship‑building abilities.
• Ability to translate opportunities into successful partnerships.
• Excellent written communication and proposal‑writing capabilities.
• Highly organised with the capacity to manage a varied portfolio of donors.
• Collaborative mindset and confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
• Passion for linking people with causes that matter.
