Funeral Arranger – Part-time (Bolton)

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Funeral Arranger to join our Bolton funeral home on a part‑time basis. You will support families during a difficult time, ensuring every service is handled with dignity, respect and professionalism.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the local community.
• Provide in‑person and telephone support, answering queries and arranging family visits.
• Keep the funeral home clean, safe and welcoming; report any maintenance issues.
• Use digital devices and software to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
• Refer regulated activities such as selling funeral plans to the appropriate support team.
• Assist with manual handling of coffins and preparation of the deceased (hair, make‑up, positioning for viewings).
• Update client management applications with accurate, timely information.

Required profile

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable working with deceased and handling sensitive situations.
• Ability to work independently, especially when the branch is unattended.
• Basic numeracy for cash handling, discounts and simple calculations.
• Physically able to perform manual handling tasks.
