Funeral Attendant – Part‑time (London allowance)

About the role

Join the Co‑op funeral service crew in Earlsfield and help families say a respectful goodbye to their loved ones. This part‑time role offers a steady schedule, on‑call duties and full training, so no prior funeral experience is required.

Key responsibilities

• Collect the deceased from various locations with professionalism and empathy.
• Transport and bear coffins, and drive funeral vehicles safely.
• Prepare coffins, engrave name plates and ready the deceased for viewings and services.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicles, equipment and facilities.
• Enter and update client information in management applications daily.
• Lift, carry and move coffins using safe techniques and handling aids.

Required profile

• Full UK manual driving licence.
• Physical ability to perform manual lifting and handling tasks.
• Calm, compassionate response in emotional situations.
• Attention to detail and respect for health‑and‑safety standards.

Required skills

• Basic IT competence – confidence using computers, tablets, smartphones and related peripherals.

What we offer

• £14.99 per hour, inclusive of London allowance.
• 18.75‑25 hours per week, Monday‑Friday 08:30‑16:30 plus on‑call rota.
