Funeral Attendant – Part‑time (London)

About the role

Join the Co‑op funeral service crew on a part‑time basis, helping families say a dignified goodbye to their loved ones. You will work 18.75 hours per week across a variety of shifts, including on‑call duties.

Key responsibilities

• Collect the deceased from various locations in a professional, empathetic manner.
• Bear coffins and drive funeral vehicles safely.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, vehicles and facilities.
• Prepare coffins and engrave name plates.
• Prepare the deceased for viewings and the funeral ceremony.
• Enter and update client management information daily.
• Safely lift, carry and move coffins using handling aids and following health‑and‑safety guidance.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driver’s licence.
• Physical ability to perform manual lifting and handling tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow regulatory policies.
• Calm, compassionate response in emotional situations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with IT devices (computers, tablets, smartphones, printers, scanners) and willingness to learn new applications.
