Funeral Service Crew

About the role

This part‑time position (30 hours per week) supports families in Bolton and Greater Manchester by providing respectful funeral services. You will work on a rotating on‑call rota, covering shifts between 8 am and 8 pm, Monday to Sunday.

Key responsibilities

• Collect the deceased from a range of locations with professionalism and empathy.
• Bear coffins on the day of the funeral and drive funeral vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and vehicles.
• Prepare coffins and engrave name plates.
• Prepare the deceased for viewings and the funeral, ensuring dignity and health‑safety standards.
• Enter and update client management information daily.
• Safely lift, carry and move coffins using handling aids and following health‑safety guidance.

Required profile

• Full UK manual driving licence.
• Physical ability to perform manual lifting and moving of coffins safely.
• Calm, compassionate response in emotional circumstances.
• Strong attention to detail.

Required skills

• IT skills – confident use of computers, tablets, smartphones, printers and scanners.
