Funeral Service Crew – Part‑time (Purley)

About the role

Join the Co‑op funeral service team in Purley, providing compassionate support to families during a difficult time. This part‑time position involves a variety of shifts and includes on‑call duties.

Key responsibilities

• Collect the deceased from various locations with professionalism and empathy.
• Bear coffins and operate funeral vehicles safely.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, vehicles and facilities.
• Prepare coffins, engrave name plates, and ready the deceased for viewings and funerals.
• Enter and update client information in management applications daily.
• Lift, carry and move coffins using safe techniques and handling aids.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driver’s licence.
• Physical capability to perform manual lifting and handling tasks.
• Calm, compassionate demeanor in emotional situations.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to health‑and‑safety regulations.
