Funeral Service Crew – Part‑time (Watford)

About the role

Join the Co‑op Funeral Service Crew in Watford, providing compassionate support to families while handling all aspects of funeral logistics. This part‑time role offers 30 hours per week across varied shifts, including on‑call duties.

Key responsibilities

• Collect the deceased from various locations with professionalism and empathy.
• Bear coffins and operate funeral vehicles safely.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, vehicles and facilities.
• Prepare coffins, engrave name plates, and ready the deceased for viewings and services.
• Enter and update client information in management applications daily.
• Lift, carry and move coffins using safe techniques and handling aids.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driver’s licence.
• Physical ability to perform manual lifting and handling tasks.
• Calm, compassionate approach in emotional situations.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to health‑ and safety standards.

Required skills

• Good IT proficiency – confident use of computers, tablets, smartphones, printers and scanners.
• Ability to learn and operate new software applications.
