FX Risk Java Tech Lead (VP level)

About the role

Citi is looking for an experienced FX Risk Java Tech Lead to drive technical excellence and lead a team building high‑performance risk calculation systems that support global markets operations. This senior position offers the chance to influence millions of dollars of daily transactions and shape the future of finance technology.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and set architecture direction for risk calculation platforms.
• Design, develop, and maintain distributed, high‑throughput Java applications (JDK 11+).
• Guide and mentor a team of engineers throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Ensure production stability, performance, and scalability of critical systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on system integration, data pipelines, and messaging solutions.

Required profile

• Extensive professional experience in Java development, including multithreading and performance tuning.
• Proven track record in a technical leadership role such as Tech Lead or Team Lead.
• Strong understanding of system design, architecture, and SDLC best practices.
• Experience working on large‑scale, mission‑critical financial applications.
