Ganger – Highway Maintenance Team Leader

About the role

We are seeking a Ganger to join our Highways team in Wellingborough, delivering essential maintenance and construction work on roads, bridges and related assets. Key responsibilities

• Safeguard and operate specialist equipment, ensuring PUWER documentation is completed and maintenance is performed.
• Carry out a variety of repair works on carriageways, footways, kerbs, soft estate, signs, posts and ironwork.
• Provide guidance and training to colleagues while adhering to Kier’s Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.
• Manage daily site activities, maintaining safety for operatives and the public.
• Conduct point‑of‑work risk assessments and ensure safe‑working procedures are followed.
• Plan work using drawings and technical documents, take measurements, and produce required reports.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead teams under pressure and deliver in a demanding environment.
• Hold an SMSTS, SSSTS or equivalent construction safety qualification.
• Possess a full, clean driving licence.
