Gas Installer – Residential & Void Properties

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Gas Installer to deliver safe and efficient domestic gas installations, replacements and remedial works across occupied and void properties in East London. You will work directly with residents and housing providers, ensuring compliance with gas safety legislation while minimising disruption.

Key responsibilities

• Install, replace and commission domestic gas appliances and associated pipework according to job specifications.
• Carry out works in occupied and void properties, maintaining minimal disruption to occupants.
• Diagnose faults, perform remedial works and report additional repairs or safety concerns.
• Record work accurately using handheld devices and job management systems, updating job status in real time.
• Complete all required certifications, test results and documentation promptly.
• Adhere to gas safety legislation, company procedures and manufacturer instructions.
• Maintain safe working practices, including appropriate use of PPE and tools.
• Communicate clearly with residents, colleagues and supervisors throughout the job cycle.

Required profile

• ACS qualification.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Proven experience in domestic gas installation and remedial works.
• Experience in social housing or repairs environments (desirable).
• Strong practical gas installation and fault‑finding abilities.
• Knowledge of gas safety legislation, certification requirements and working in occupied properties.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements and safe systems of work.
• Ability to work independently, safely and to deadlines.
