Gate Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Gate Engineer to join our busy team, responsible for installing, servicing, maintaining and repairing automated gate systems for commercial and domestic clients. The role involves hands‑on work with CAME and BFT gate automation equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operation across a local patch of sites.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair automated gates and access control systems.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical faults.
• Work with CAME and BFT gate automation equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and preventative servicing.
• Respond to breakdowns and customer call‑outs.
• Complete installations, upgrades and replacement works.
• Test and commission equipment after repairs.
• Prepare accurate service reports and paperwork.
• Maintain high safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Gate Engineer or in a similar role.
• Proven experience with CAME and/or BFT equipment (essential).
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage a daily job schedule.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Good communication and customer‑service skills.
