About the role
The College is seeking a passionate GCSE English Lecturer to join its Foundation Studies department. You will deliver high‑quality teaching to 16‑18 year‑old students and adult learners, creating engaging, relevant lessons that link to real‑world contexts.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver effective GCSE English lessons, using a range of teaching techniques.
- Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback and support academic and personal development.
- Set, mark and record assessments in line with College policies.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment and promote positive behaviour.
- Contribute to curriculum design and programme development with the Assistant Dean.
- Track attendance and progress using College systems.
- Stay up‑to‑date with national developments in English education.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or NQT welcome.
- Experience teaching GCSE English to 16‑18 year‑olds preferred.
- Ability to motivate and inspire learners of diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to the College’s mission and values.

- Salary range £34,789 – £48,394 per year.
