GCSE English & Maths SEN Tutor – Part‑Time

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a part‑time GCSE English and Maths tutor to support secondary‑aged learners in Bury. The role focuses on students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), helping them build confidence and progress towards their GCSE qualifications.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one, personalised tuition in English and Maths aligned with the GCSE curriculum.
• Adapt lessons for pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, anxiety, EBSA or other SEND requirements.
• Plan and execute sessions during school hours (9 am‑3 pm), typically around 20 hours per week.
• Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate safeguarding records.
• Collaborate with the tuition team to ensure consistent support and share best practices.

Required profile

• Minimum six months of UK teaching or tuition experience.
• Demonstrated experience supporting children with SEND.
• Ability to teach English and Maths at GCSE level.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.
