GCSE English & Maths Tutor (Flexible Hours)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking qualified GCSE English and Maths tutors to deliver one‑to‑one tuition to students in Liverpool. The role offers flexible weekly hours and the chance to make a tangible difference in learners’ confidence and academic progress.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personalised 1:1 GCSE English and Maths lessons tailored to each student’s ability and goals.
• Identify and address learning gaps, supporting students who have missed education or experience anxiety.
• Adapt teaching methods to maintain engagement and encourage confidence.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate updates as needed.

Required profile

• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent – desirable.
• Experience teaching GCSE English and/or Maths is advantageous.
• Proven ability to support learners with gaps in education or additional needs.
• UK teaching or tutoring experience.
