GCSE Japanese Examiner (Remote)

About the role

As a GCSE Japanese Examiner you will mark candidates' responses remotely, applying the official mark scheme to ensure consistent and accurate assessment. Marking is primarily performed onscreen using the ePEN platform, with a short training period in May‑June and marking taking place between May and July.

Key responsibilities

• Mark scripts accurately and consistently according to the predefined mark scheme.
• Submit sample scripts to the Team Leader at designated times.
• Meet all marking milestones and deadlines.
• Complete required administrative tasks as specified.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent qualification.
• Qualified teacher status (UK or overseas qualifications accepted).
• Minimum 5 months part‑time teaching experience in the relevant subject within the last 10 years (UK experience required), or recent assessment experience with a recognised UK exam board.
• High level of subject knowledge in Japanese.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
