About the role

We are looking for an experienced Gear Grinder to join our precision engineering manufacturing team in Bury. The role involves operating specialised gear grinding equipment to produce high‑quality components to exact engineering specifications while adhering to strict health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate gear grinding machinery.
• Manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Monitor machine performance and report any issues.
• Maintain accurate production records.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on equipment.
• Work to production targets and deadlines.
• Keep the work area clean, organised and safe.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Gear Grinder.
• Strong understanding of precision engineering and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good problem‑solving skills and practical engineering ability.
• Reliable, motivated and able to work independently.
• Awareness of health and safety procedures in a workshop environment.
