General Assistant – Care Home Support

About the role

As a General Assistant at a Barchester care home you will help create a warm, homely environment for residents. You will be involved in a variety of tasks across housekeeping, cleaning, laundry and catering, ensuring high‑quality care and support each day.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily housekeeping duties to maintain clean and safe resident areas.
• Handle laundry services, ensuring linens and clothing are washed and stored properly.
• Assist with basic catering tasks, including meal preparation and serving.
• Support residents with everyday needs, fostering a friendly and respectful atmosphere.
• Collaborate with the care team to uphold health and safety standards.
