General Assistant

About the role

GLL is seeking a motivated General Assistant to join the team at Ulverston Leisure Centre. You will play a key part in delivering a safe, clean and welcoming environment for our visitors, supporting a wide range of activities and events.

Key responsibilities

• Provide friendly, professional customer service and assist with bookings.
• Prepare areas and equipment for scheduled events and activities.
• Carry out routine checks, basic maintenance and report any faults to the supervisor.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety throughout the centre.
• Monitor equipment usage to ensure it is fit for purpose and used safely.
• Promote the facility to retain existing users and attract new participants.

Required profile

• Positive, can‑do attitude with a strong focus on customer service.
• Reliability, punctuality and flexibility.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and interact with people from diverse backgrounds.
• First Aid at Work certification (preferred).
