General Builder

About the role

We are seeking an experienced General Builder to join our client on a permanent, full‑time basis. You will work within a collaborative team to set up new sites, manage demolition, enabling works, groundworks and structural alterations from start to finish.

Key responsibilities

• Establish initial site set‑up, including demolition and enabling works.
• Carry out groundworks, structural alterations, propping and steel installation.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise construction projects through all phases.
• Read and interpret structural engineers' drawings and set out structural elements.
• Perform general building tasks ranging from basic carpentry to bathroom tiling.
• Install and repair foundations, framing, finishes and other building components.
• Ensure all work complies with building codes and regulations.
• Communicate with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a General Builder, preferably with a background in bricklaying or carpentry.
• Own vehicle and tools.
• Experience in residential building, temporary works and structural propping.
• Ability to read structural drawings and take responsibility for setting out and completing structural elements.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and health & safety standards.
