General Cover Teacher – Secondary (Eastbourne)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Secondary General Cover Teacher to join schools in Eastbourne on a short‑term basis. The role involves delivering high‑quality lessons across Key Stages 3‑5 and supporting pupils’ academic and personal development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons for secondary students.
• Assess, record and report on pupil progress and attainment.
• Maintain classroom discipline through effective management techniques.
• Contribute to curriculum development and participate in school activities.
• Provide feedback to parents and guardians during meetings and evenings.
• Stay informed about curriculum changes and act as a mentor for students.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Right to work in the UK.
• A degree in a relevant subject.
• Experience teaching at secondary level.
• Strong knowledge of the UK national curriculum.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
