General Cover Teacher – Secondary (Full‑time, Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic secondary school teachers to work as general cover teachers on a temporary, full‑time basis. You will be placed in schools across East Sussex, delivering high‑quality lessons and supporting student progress.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons for Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
• Assess, record and report on student achievement and progress.
• Maintain discipline through effective classroom management.
• Contribute to curriculum development and participate in school‑wide activities.
• Communicate student progress to parents and guardians at meetings and evenings.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to support pupils' academic and personal development.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Right to work in the UK.
• A degree in a relevant subject area.
• Experience teaching at secondary level.
• Strong knowledge of the UK national curriculum.
• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
• Effective communication and a commitment to continuous professional development.
