General Manager – Care Home

About the role

The General Manager will lead the team at Birchwood Grange Care Home, ensuring residents receive high‑quality, person‑centred care in a safe and stimulating environment. You will be the primary point of contact for residents, families, and health professionals while driving the home’s performance against regulatory and business targets.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver consistent, high‑quality, person‑centred care aligned with best practice.
• Recruit, retain, and develop staff, maintaining appropriate staffing levels based on occupancy and resident dependency.
• Act as the main liaison for residents, relatives, visitors, and external health and social care professionals.
• Provide inspirational leadership and day‑to‑day management for the care team.
• Monitor and control costs, ensuring budgets are adhered to and stock is regularly reviewed.

Required profile

• Minimum four years’ experience in a similar care environment.
• Leadership and Management Level 5 qualification or equivalent.
• Demonstrated leadership and management abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Adaptable and able to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

• Proficiency in IT applications.
