General Manager – Residential Property Portfolio

About the role

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to take ownership of a heritage residential portfolio in West London. You will lead day‑to‑day operations, ensuring high standards of customer service, property management and commercial performance across the portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the on‑site team to deliver a consistent resident experience.
• Oversee all aspects of residential property management for the portfolio.
• Drive occupancy, resident retention and rental performance.
• Manage resident queries and act as escalation point for complex matters.
• Support leasing activity alongside external agents and internal teams.
• Monitor budgets, expenditure and overall property performance.
• Manage contractors and planned maintenance programmes.
• Ensure compliance with property management legislation and health & safety requirements.
• Produce regular operational and financial reports for senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Working knowledge of residential property management within the PRS sector.
• Strong customer‑service focus with a resident‑centred approach.
• Proven experience leading and developing teams.
• Confidence managing operational budgets and commercial performance.
• Experience coordinating contractors and overseeing maintenance activities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Strong organisational abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with wider business teams.
