General Practice Accountant – Hereford

About the role

We are looking for a motivated General Practice Accountant to join a friendly, professional accountancy practice in Hereford. You will manage your own client portfolio, delivering a full range of accounting and tax services while developing long‑term relationships in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare year‑end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Produce management accounts and provide regular financial reporting.
• Handle corporate and personal tax returns and advise clients on tax matters.
• Assist with bookkeeping, VAT returns and day‑to‑day accounting queries.
• Support and review the work of junior team members.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or AAT qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Previous practice experience in a generalist accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax requirements.
• Commercially aware, proactive and able to communicate confidently with clients.

Required skills

• Experience with cloud accounting software such as Xero.
• Experience with QuickBooks.
• Experience with Sage.
