General Store Manager

About the role

As a General Store Manager you will be responsible for the overall planning, strategy and day‑to‑day execution of store operations across key departments, including non‑food, online and customer areas. You will ensure product availability, minimise waste and shrink, and keep the superstore running safely, efficiently and in full compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of daily store operations across all departments.
• Maximise product availability while minimising waste, shrink and loss.
• Work closely with the Operations Manager and department managers to maintain consistent standards and drive productivity.
• Improve delivery flow, stock routines and compliance processes.
• Coach and develop the leadership team, fostering a culture of empowerment and accountability.
• Ensure POS procedures are followed and deliver strong value messages to customers.

Required profile

• Result‑focused with a passion for getting things done correctly the first time.
• Strong commercial awareness of how availability, waste and shrink impact performance.
• Demonstrated coaching and leadership abilities.
• Empathetic, transparent decision‑maker who encourages open communication.
• Resilient and able to hold managers accountable for results.
