About the role
The school in Reading is seeking a passionate Geography Teacher for secondary students, starting September 2026 on a full‑time, permanent basis. The role involves delivering the Geography curriculum, preparing resources, assessing student progress and contributing to departmental planning.
Key responsibilities
- Teach Geography to students across Key Stages 3 to 5 (KS5 desirable).
- Plan and deliver engaging, high‑quality lessons that inspire curiosity about the world.
- Develop and use a variety of teaching resources and assessment methods.
- Contribute to a supportive and collaborative Humanities faculty.
- Encourage critical thinking, environmental awareness and global understanding.
- Participate fully in the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and staff meetings.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Geography in UK secondary schools.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Geography.
- Ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities.
- Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning; ECTs are encouraged to apply.
