Geotechnical Engineer – Rail Infrastructure Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join a leading rail infrastructure support provider in Leeds. The role involves planning, managing and delivering ground investigation projects for major rail and infrastructure schemes across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute ground investigation programmes from inception to completion.
• Interpret subsurface conditions and provide geotechnical recommendations.
• Oversee site investigations, including drilling, sampling and testing.
• Produce high‑quality technical reports and documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and liaise with clients.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians.

Required profile

• Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering ground investigation and geotechnical projects.
• Ability to mentor junior staff.
• Residency in or near Leeds.
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.
