About the role
As a Global Category Manager for the South West, you will lead procurement strategies that optimise supplier relationships and drive cost‑effective sourcing within the industrial and manufacturing sector. This strategic position is essential for streamlining the supply chain and delivering efficiency across the business.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement global category strategies to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency.
- Manage supplier relationships, ensuring high‑quality service and long‑term partnerships.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure the best value for the organisation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with business goals.
- Monitor supplier performance and proactively address any issues or risks.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and industry regulations.
- Provide regular reports on category performance and cost‑saving initiatives.
Required profile
- Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management within the industrial or manufacturing sector.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management capabilities.
- Ability to develop and execute effective category strategies.
- Excellent analytical and market research skills.
- Proficiency with relevant procurement tools and systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Results‑driven approach focused on cost savings and efficiency.
- Relevant professional qualifications or certifications in procurement or supply chain management.
Required skills
What we offer
- Salary between £50,000 and £60,000 depending on experience.
- 26 days holiday plus bank holidays.
