Global Commodity Senior Buyer

About the role

This is an opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to step into a high‑impact Global Commodity Senior Buyer position within a technically advanced aerospace manufacturing environment. You’ll own strategic spend across Machining, Fabrications and Special Processes, working across a complex international supply chain and partnering with suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver measurable commercial value.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute commodity strategies that maximise value and support business objectives.
• Manage significant spend across Machining, Fabrications and Special Processes.
• Lead strategic sourcing activities across multiple sites and business areas.
• Negotiate commercial agreements and contracts with key suppliers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers while preserving commercial leverage.
• Establish supplier governance and performance management frameworks.
• Drive measurable cost savings, value creation and commercial improvements.
• Monitor supplier performance on cost, quality, delivery and contractual compliance.

Required profile

• Approximately 5+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing and procurement.
• Proven track record of managing multi‑million‑pound spend and delivering measurable savings.
• Knowledge of manufacturing categories such as machining, fabrication or special processes.
• Strong commercial awareness with ability to identify opportunities beyond simple cost reduction.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence to influence across a complex, multi‑site organisation.
• CIPS qualification or relevant degree/professional certification is desirable.
