Global Head of Commodities Technology

About the role

Citi is seeking a Global Head of Commodities Technology to lead the technology strategy for its commodities business. This senior leader will define and execute the roadmap for platforms supporting financing and physical trading of global commodity flows. The role partners with business leaders to drive growth, market‑share expansion and new product development.

Key responsibilities

• Define, champion and execute the technology strategy and roadmap aligned with commodities business objectives.
• Influence investment decisions and manage the technology book of work.
• Oversee delivery of robust, scalable, high‑performance technology solutions, ensuring architecture alignment and resiliency.
• Ensure platform quality, risk mitigation and operational excellence.
• Lead, mentor and develop a globally distributed team of technologists, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
• Attract, retain and develop top engineering talent to build a high‑performing organization.

Required profile

• Significant experience in financial‑services technology leadership, preferably within commodities or trading.
• Proven track record of delivering large‑scale, mission‑critical platforms.
• Strong understanding of trading, risk management, e‑trading, transaction processing and data analytics.
• Demonstrated ability to work with senior business stakeholders and influence strategic decisions.
• Experience managing globally distributed teams and driving high performance.
