GP Partner or Salaried GP position in Scottish Borders

About the role

We are seeking a GP Partner or Salaried GP to join our friendly, well‑supported practice serving the Melrose and Newtown St Boswells communities. The role will commence following a planned partner retirement in April 2027 and offers a sustainable workload within a cohesive team of 7,000 patients.

Key responsibilities

• Provide routine 15‑minute appointments (approximately 25 per day) and manage acute care alongside Advanced Nurse Practitioners.
• Collaborate with a strong multidisciplinary team including district nurses, health visitors, physiotherapy, pharmacy and CTAC.
• Maintain continuity of care and support chronic disease management led by the Practice Nurse.
• Participate in training activities as the practice prepares to host FY2 doctors.

Required profile

• Qualified General Practitioner registered with the appropriate medical authority.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality primary care in a rural setting.
• Willingness to work within a multidisciplinary team and support training initiatives.
