Graduate Counselling Scheme

About the role

This 6‑month Graduate Counselling Scheme is designed for 2025 or 2026 graduates who want to start a full‑time career as a Wellbeing Counsellor. Based in Manchester, the programme begins in September and combines paid training with hands‑on experience in a leading Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) provider.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver digital and telephone counselling sessions to employees and their families.
• Apply solution‑focused counselling techniques to support client wellbeing.
• Conduct risk assessments and manage safeguarding concerns.
• Provide online CBT and other evidence‑based interventions.
• Maintain accurate case records and use case‑management systems.
• Collaborate with the wider EAP team to ensure seamless service delivery.

Required profile

• Graduate of 2025 or 2026 with a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling.
• Minimum of 100 documented counselling hours.
• Current BACP (or equivalent) membership.
• Strong communication, computer literacy and organisational abilities.
• Genuine desire to make a positive difference to people’s lives.

What we offer

• Paid 6‑month training leading to a permanent Wellbeing Counsellor role.
• Salary £26,000‑£27,000 per year.
