Graduate Finance Analyst (FP&A)

About the role

Our client is seeking an ambitious graduate to join the Group FP&A team in Newcastle. This full‑time position offers a fast‑track entry into commercial finance, allowing you to work with numbers, understand business performance and turn data into actionable insight.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation of monthly performance and Board reporting.
• Compare actual results against budget, forecast and prior year and investigate variances.
• Review financial and operational KPIs to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Assist with the annual budgeting and forecasting process, consolidating data from multiple business areas.
• Collaborate with finance colleagues to improve reporting quality and analysis.
• Contribute to ad‑hoc projects, cost reviews and investment analysis.
• Help enhance reporting tools, templates and processes.

Required profile

• Recent graduate (or soon‑to‑graduate) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Business, Data/Analytics or a related quantitative discipline.
• Strong numerical ability and genuine interest in a finance career.
• Basic understanding of Excel, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Clear communication, attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Motivation to work in FP&A and commercial finance; internships or projects demonstrating analytical ability are a plus.
